Daily UI Challenge

In the Daily UI Challenge, I design a user interface screens or elements based on a prompt. All of my designs are based on an application idea I have for my social/ecommerce application for my art business, Candyleaf Designs.

My goal is to improve on my visual design skills through these challenges. I iterate on multiple designs before choosing the one to move forward with.

My latest designs will appear first as I’ve improved along the way. This page is a work in progress and I continually add more designs.

Tool Used: Figma

πŸ“ Day 17: Task List

I designed a task list based on projects using secondary colors.

🎨 Day 16: Item Customization

I designed a boba bunny character and created some toppings and milk tea flavor customizations. I moved forward with the left one because the “Next” button is further away from the “Choose Tea” option so it’s harder for users to accidentally click “Next” when they are not finished selecting the tea.

πŸ”” Day 15: Activity

I moved forward with the right one because it has additional features – green circle with “Activity,” new notifications highlighted, and a clearer separation between yesterday and today’s notifications.

πŸ“ˆ Day 14: Analytics

The green on one the left means that sales have been up average, and the red one on the right means sales have been below average.

πŸ† Day 13: Leaderboard

I decided to go with the one on the right because there is more contrast between the text and background for “Leaderboard,” “1st,” “2nd,” and “3rd” place.

πŸ“ Day 12: File Upload

I moved forward with the left one because the icon for “Import Files” is more pronounced.

🏷 Day 11: Pricing

I moved forward with the left one because of the flat colors and increased contrast for accessibility.

πŸ” Day 10: Search

I moved forward with the left one because recent searches and metrics are included for utility.

πŸ’¬ Day 9: Direct Message

I included options to add friends, voice and video call, see conversations, explore different group chats, edit profile, and settings.

πŸ›’ Day 8: E-Commerce Shop

I moved forward with the left one because the rounded corners match with my design system more.

🎢 Day 7: Music Player

I moved forward with the middle one because of the simplicity and more readable Open Sans font.

βš™οΈ Day 6: Settings

I moved forward with the right one because of the flat and concise design of the options.

πŸ‘€ Day 5: Profile

I moved forward with the left one. The “Goals” section is inspired by composition notebook layouts (lines, off-white, and rounded corners). My goal is to design a social networking platform that emphasizes the person and not the number of followers. I added badges as a way to gamify the platform.

πŸ“±Day 4: App Icon

I moved forward with the middle one as the design is flat and simpler than the rest.

πŸ–₯ Day 3: Front Page

The bunnies will animate as they are clicked on. The “search” bar will also expand as the bunny with the magnifying glass is clicked on.

πŸ’³ Day 2: Card Checkout

I moved forward with the left one because it provided the most contrast in the “Card Information” section and “Confirm” button.

πŸ“ Day 1: Sign Up

I moved forward with the left one because it had more white-space and contrast (information input field and “submit” button).

Stay tuned for more designs!
